You need to know....
We always take into consideration your interests, needs and skill levels. We design our guided trips, lessons and classes especially for you.
For guided fishing trip
Rain gear, hat, sunblock, insect repellant. Dress appropriately for the conditions For daytime: sunscreen, polarized sunglasses. Other helpful items are pliers, flies and something to carry them in (a Ziploc bag works), tippet material. Be sure to bring any medications you might need to have on hand.
We recommend 8 or 9 weight outfit and suggest that you keep your gear as simple as possible to make your fishing experience more enjoyable. We can provide fly tackle and stripping basket, just let us know. We will have flies, but bring any you want.
SHORE TRIPS: You need to provide waders for yourself. There are places to fish from shore that don't require wading, but that can limit fishing sites, some of which might be more productive than more easily accessible areas.
BOAT TRIPS: The same as for shore trips, but no waders. We provide snacks and water. Please let us know if you have any special requirements.
For classes
Classes are held rain or shine, so come prepared according to the weather. Items to think about are rain gear, sunglasses, sun screen, cap and insect repellant.
Our classes are held away from the water. This way we can focus on casting techniques without the physical challenges of surf, sand dunes, rocky bottoms and other seaside landscape characteristics. Our guided teaching shore trip is where technique meets with water, after you have a good base for casting.
For classes, bring any fly fishing equipment that you own to the class so you can use what you are familiar with. You also will have the opportunity to try a variety of equipment, different weight and action rods, to help you get a feel for differences and what you may prefer.
